Suspicious Circumstances...

The West Allis Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in helping identify a person and a vehicle which followed a juvenile female under possibly suspicious circumstances.

On Monday, 11/20/17, the West Allis Police Department was notified of an incident involving a juvenile female that occurred last Thursday. During the afternoon hours of Thursday, 11/16/17, a juvenile female was walking in the area of W. Washington St. and S. 95th St. As the female walked, she observed a vehicle turn on to the street she was walking on and begin to follow her. The vehicle drove slowly and honked its horn at the female. The male did stop and exit the vehicle. Ultimately, the female ran away from the vehicle. At this time, there is no information that the male had physical contact with or spoke to the juvenile female.

The vehicle is described as a light silver, 4 door vehicle with round headlights. The vehicle had tinted windows and 1 or 2 baseball caps in the back window.

Off-Duty WAPD Officer Likely Saves Motorist’s Life…

A couple of months ago, the Portage County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a motorcycle versus van crash in Portage County. The information received indicated there were serious injuries and a large amount of blood at the scene. Emergency personnel responded to the crash and observed a male on the ground bleeding with severe injuries to his legs. It was discovered that an individual was providing first aid to the injured person and this individual had applied a tourniquet to the man’s leg, which controlled the bleeding. This individual was John Kleinfeldt, one of our off duty officers who was in the area and stopped to assist.

Portage County authorities indicated that Officer Kleinfeldt’s quick actions that day most likely saved the motorist’s life, as it was discovered the injured male was bleeding from his femoral artery, which had been damaged in the crash. Officer Kleinfldlt was commended for his preparedness and quick response to the emergent situation.

Excellent job by Officer Kleinfeldt!

This is one example of why we equip all of our front line officers with tourniquets as they protect and serve the City of West Allis.
