Important Jail Policies and Procedures:

Inmates at the Lake County Adult Detention Facility are allowed 2 15-minute visits or 1 30-minute visit per week. Visitors over the age of 18 must present proper ID in the form of a valid Driver’s License or State ID. Passports are not accepted as proper identification.

Visitors under the age of 18 will not be allowed to visit unless the inmate has been incarcerated in the facility for 60 consecutive days. If this condition is met, the inmate will be allowed 1 15-minute visit with each of his minor sons/daughters in a non-contact visiting area. The minor must be accompanied by an immediate family member who is aged 18 or over. Any minors left in the front lobby must also remain acccompanied by an adult over the age of 18. Once the visit is concluded, the next visits will occur every 60 consecutive days of incarceration. These visits will all be conducted on Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 pm.

  • Successfully complete background investigation, polygraph, and/or voice stress analysis examination;
  • Mental and physical ability to perform the duties as described;
  • Be able to work rotating shifts (first, second, third) weekends and holidays on a 28-day cycle;
  • Be available for overtime and on-call status as required.
