Bail and Bondsman

A person charged with a crime is granted temporary release from custody upon payment of bail. Bail is the amount of money set by the court that will be used as collateral to ensure the defendant’s good behavior. He gets his money back, minus fees, if he complies with all of the court’s orders. He forfeits the money if he fails to appear before the court or violates any of the conditions of his release.

A bondsman is a person who signs bonds on behalf of defendants who cannot afford to post bail on their own. He typically charges 10% of the bail amount as his non-refundable fee.

Due to unforseen circumstances we were not able to teach the Anti-Bullying program as originally planned at French Ford Middle School. Instead of teaching multiple classes, the school held an assembly where Detective Castaneda and Admin. Clerk Kiraly taught the entire school at once. Here are some pictures from the assembly. Thank you to the French Ford staff for working with us on the scheduling and inviting us in to share the program.
