We love kids and we can’t stress enough the importance of early childhood development. Research clearly shows the emotional, social and physical development of children has a direct effect on the adult they will become. A close second to early childhood development, hands down, is proper sentence structure and word usage . We’ve found a little educational piece that nails the latter but the former...not so much. Take Tom for instance. He decides to book it from the cops. Bad decision but nailed the grammar. The subject and verb agree with their tense. Then Rob joins in. Bad decision but, again, the sentence clearly illustrates proper syntax. A little insight would prove helpful in trying to follow along. What about the facts? Rarely, if ever, do we have a big mop. What we can deduce is the cop was no rookie. No where do you see, “The cop ran after Tom and Rob”. NO! The cop waited until both wiped out...one on a log and one in the pond...then sent the dog (We do have an excellent dog). With the exception of the final sentence about Rob’s poor socks(serves him right), we give credit to the intent on word usage and context...we think they might have missed the mark on content. We still don’t know what the cop did with the big mop.

FROST: noun 1. A deposit of small white ice crystals formed on the ground or other surfaces when the temperature falls below freezing (including your windshields). VISIBILITY: noun 1. The distance one can see as determined by light and weather conditions. See where we're going with this. Frost is magestic on trees and lawns turning them into instand wonderlands but wreak havoc on your ability to see if not properly cleared from your windshield. It's November folks...theres as good a chance of frost being on your windshield in the morning as there is Trump will tweet. With that said....we've posted, as a reminder, of what a scraper may look like so it can be quickly identified when located under the summer items still cluttering your cars. Please, for your sfaety and ours, take the time to clear off your windshields.....OUR lives depend on it!

On November 2, 2017 at approximately 4:30AM, the Hancock County Regional Communication Center received a report that an 83 year old woman, who had been diagnosed with dementia, apparently left her Amherst residence on foot. It was reported the female was last seen at the residence on Wednesday night around 10:00PM. Deputies Travis Frost, Luke Gross and Lt. Corey Bagley responded to the residence where Deputy Frost and his K9 Finn were deployed. Deputy Frost and his K9 started a track after a nearly 7 hour delay. Within an hour of tracking through the woods in light rain conditions, wet surfaces and temperatures hovering just above freezing, K9 Finn located the elderly female approximately 3 quarters of a mile from the residence off in the woods. The elderly female, cold, wet and disoriented, was transported to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for further medical attention. Maine Game Wardens and the Amherst Fire Department also responded to assist.
