Pulaski County is located in the state of Arkansas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of approximately 391,284 people and a total area of 808 square miles, making it the most populous county in Arkansas. Pulaski County is Arkansas’s fifth county, formed on December 15, 1818, alongside Hempstead County and Clark County. The county was named after Casimir Pulaski, a Polish volunteer who saved George Washington’s life during the American Revolutionary War. Its county seat is Little Rock, which is also Arkansas’s capital and largest city.
Larry Crane, the Pulaski County Circuit Clerk, was first elected Pulaski Circuit/County Clerk in 2010 and took office on January 1, 2011. The Pulaski Circuit/County Clerk serves as the County Real Estate Recorder and the Voter Registrar for Pulaski County, working closely with attorneys and title companies to record and index every land transaction conducted in Pulaski County. In addition, the Circuit/County Clerk’s office provides recordkeeping and administrative support to the 17 Circuit Court judges in Pulaski County.
The Circuit/County Clerk has a number of departments within his office, including the Voter Registration/County Records Department. The responsibilities of this department include maintain Pulaski County voter registration records; issue and record marriage licenses, minister’s credentials, and various other county or staterequired licenses; record and maintain county court orders and contracts; and record and maintain various petitions concerning matters under the jurisdiction of the Pulaski County Court.
